Truly Proud to be a Failure?!

'Impossible to overturn'! Roly-poly your life.
Today, it hangs over me like a dark cloud, a bit like a dementor, sucking my energy - the feeling of possible FAILURE: "You will never get this blog post written and your newsletter is not going to be published in a million years and you have a writing blockage and you don't like words anyhow and...". Enough, in the end it comes down to 'I am not doing it' and before I am not doing it I cannot actually fail.

Huh, have you thought about that one before? You can only start failing, when you dare doing it. Beforehand, it is all hypothetical.

Anyhow, I now had a two week break from writing this blog post. I intended to write it since mid of May, I started it on the 6th of June, today is the 18th, uff. And I feel both F... words coming up, because seriously, it can't be so hard to write a few lines about failing.

I guess it is time to think of what I bring to my clients in these situations. First of all I agree with them to celebrate failure as much as successes. Why? Because they hold valuable learning. And we often do not take the time to pause, celebrate and learn.

So what is here to celebrate? Oh boy, it took me two weeks to return (wtf @/$%!, okay let's not get caught up by the saboteurs, what is here to appreciate and learn?).
I am starting a new writing habit (whoohoo) and it is only working when I have scheduled time slots for writing upfront in my calendar (good to know). When I start writing it tends to flow (okay, so once I overcome procrastination, things will move, that is annoying AND promising). And I am doing it right now (Big Woop Woop!).

Ah, the roly-poly, it is not there for nothing. With my little reflection just now, I feel I rolled up again a good deal. For me the roly-poly toy is a strong reminder of our resilience, now matter how flat and sad a situation can look, recovery is possible. Especially when we start looking for the gold in our shit (happening).

So HOMEWORK: Where are you currently failing or telling yourself you are about to fail? Or maybe even more nasty, what 'fail' in your past have you still not forgiven yourself?
Start looking for the important learning and something to appreciate in the scenario! What is there to celebrate? What do you learn about yourself and your habits? What resources, structures do you have and can you put in place to put your learning into effect and try again?
Here you are roly-polying your life. You should try it for real, e.g. rolling on your back, it is fun :D

And REMEMBER: When you fail it does not mean that you are a failure. You get to choose to learn from it. Make that choice to go for MORE right now.

Tell me in a comment or e-mail in case you have questions or get stuck with your homework! I am also sure that you have a few more brilliant tipps as to what helps when the dark failure cloud is hanging over my or your head, please share generously in the comments section below!
